High-Quality Cassette Awning - Everything You Need to Know

When you are buying a pergola or shade solution for your patio or garden, one thing you will need to consider is what type of shade structure or pergola you want. The options include retractable shade structures, cassette awnings that fold at the push of a button, or simple foldable pergolas.

Electric pergolas are the most popular type of pergolas. They provide an excellent solution and save space since they can be rolled or folded when not in use. With retractable pergolas, there is no need to worry about wind or storms because they can be stored when the weather forecast calls for stormy conditions.

When the pergola is folded or closed, the fabric rolls completely into the cassette, and the arms fold inward. This ensures that the fabric and moving parts are not exposed to wind or rain. In addition to protecting the pergola, it is also a smart and organized option.

A cassette awning, how does it work?

They fold into the cassette (an aluminum component that collects the awning) to protect and extend its lifespan by keeping it safe from sunlight, dirt, wind, and rain. This maintains a clean and aesthetic appearance even when they are folded. A cassette awning is an upgraded version of an arm awning in terms of folding.

What fabric does the cassette awning have?

If you have chosen to install a shade canopy, the cassette awning typically has a very strong fabric made of acrylic material that is resistant to dust, sun, and water. The fabric is combined with high-quality materials that preserve it for many years. 5-year warranty on the fabric of the cassette.

Which color is more suitable for a cassette awning?

The colors of the awning are another important consideration when choosing the fabric color for the awning. Unlike matching an awning to the exterior color of the building, using bold colors gives your structure a balanced look. Its purpose is to emphasize and beautify your home or business, resulting in an attractive appearance.

As mentioned, understanding the external design of the building and coordinating the colors allows you to choose a color for the cassette awning that matches your building well. The possibilities for using bold colors for a cassette awning are almost endless. Homeowners who want to emphasize their homes may consider installing a dark-colored awning to match the house's color scheme. Alternatively, business owners who want to stand out to their audience may invest in an awning with bold colors designed with striking hues.

The installation of cassette awnings:

Awnings are an excellent way to provide shade for your backyard or balcony without building an entirely new structure. There are many different types of awnings, including retractable, portable, or motorized ones. Installing an awning may seem challenging, but as long as you measure carefully and ensure that your awning is at the right height, you can set it up safely and enjoy its benefits. We've prepared a guide on how to measure and install a cassette awning without any worries.

1. Mark the exact center of the door where the awning will be hung.
2. Measure the entire length of your door. Divide this number by two to find the precise center of the door. Use a chalk or a permanent marker to draw a line above the center of the door.
3. For example, if your door spans 1.1 meters, dividing it by two gives you 0.55 meters, which is the center of the door. Draw the line at this point.

Step 4: Draw a mark at the precise center of the awning.
Step 5: Measure the entire length of the awning and then divide the number by 2 to find the exact center. Gently mark the awning with a chalk or a permanent marker.
Step 6: For example, if your awning is 1.5 meters (5 meters) long, mark it at a height of 0.76 meters.

Step 7: Lift the awning and draw a straight line in the location where it will be installed.
Step 8: Enlist the help of another person to assist you in raising the awning to the position where it will be installed. Draw a line with a pencil or chalk all the way underneath the awning from one end to the other. Consider the length of the brackets and align the center of the awning upward with the center of the door.

Motor for Awnings

The electric motor from BECKER or SOMFY comes with a 5-year warranty. The advanced motor can be connected to a smart home, has a multi-channel remote control, and can also be connected to a phone or any other screen. The motor does not require any special preparation, and the external power point can be very helpful.

Sensors for the awning

Sun and/or wind sensors are another option that helps your pergola take care of itself. Sun sensors will open the pergola so that it's always ready for you on a beautiful day, while wind sensors will retract it to prevent damage in case of strong winds. It is recommended to install a built-in vibration sensor for all pergolas. Some sensors are operated by sunlight, while others are connected to your electrical supply.
