- Pergola, Shade Structure, Folding Shade (up to 20 sqm) - Regulation 11 - Conditions:
- (a) The construction of a pergola or shade structure, connected on at least one of its sides to a building exempt from a permit, provided that the following conditions are met:
- (1) It shall not protrude from the building's wall by more than two meters.
- (2) It shall be constructed from lightweight materials.
- (b) The construction of a folding shade (awning) is exempt from a permit, provided that the shade, in its closed position, does not protrude from the building's wall by more than 50 centimeters.
- (c) Shade coverings made of a pergola or awning that protect against the sun and weather conditions are considered exempt from requiring a permit, provided that the height of the covering does not exceed 3 meters, the span between the columns does not exceed 5 meters, and the weight of the covering does not exceed 3.5 kilograms per square meter.
Exempt from requiring a building permit with mandatory reporting to the authority:
- Roof rack, sunshade canopy, retractable awning – with an area exceeding 20 square meters –Regulation 11 (d) - Conditions:
- (d) Notification for the installation of a canopy or awning with an area exceeding 20 square meters, The application, prepared according to the attached form, shall be submitted to the licensing authority within 45 days of the completion of the work. It shall be accompanied by a structural engineer's confirmation regarding the anchoring and stability of the awning or canopy, and that structural failure of the awning or canopy will not occur at the point of attachment to the structure and will not cause structural failure of the structure.
- Balcony enclosure with a canopy - Regulation 12 - Conditions:
- Establishing a shaded structure exempt from a permit, provided that these conditions are met:
- Its area shall not exceed 50 square meters or ¼ of the area of the land free of buildings or the roof – whichever is greater.
- (2) The pergola or canopy shall be erected on the ground or the roof of the structure, unless the permit, spatial guidelines, or plan stipulate otherwise and permit the erection of a canopy in another location.
- (3) Notice of work performed under this regulation, prepared according to the attached form, shall be delivered to the licensing authority within 45 days from the date of performance and shall be accompanied by Structural engineer's approval Regarding the anchoring of the electric pergola and its stability, and that structural failure in the awning will not occur at the point of attachment to the building and will not cause structural failure of the building.
